On the county council, I will focus on legislation and policies toward economic growth resulting in higher revenues for the county to help support the infrastructure, affordable housing, and incentives for our public safety, educators, and public workers to live in the county. Our roads and streets are congested, which needs to be improved sotax payers spend their precious time towards productivity and with their families rather than on the road.

I will work to:

  • Attract Businesses Resulting in Increased Tax Base and Jobs: We are in the perfect spot between Baltimore and Washington DC to attract federal contracting business. Let’s work on initiatives to bring jobs into the area so people can work and live in Howard County.
  • Manage and Balance Growth in Howard County; Smart Growth is keeping a balance between our housing needs, infrastructure and open spaces and rural farms.
  • Affordable housing.
  • Revitalize Neighborhoods and Attract Investments to those Areas; With the 50th Birthday of Columbia and the downtown re-development, we need to also focus on our villages to attract new families.
  • Increased focus on infrastructure, roads, schools, utilities, community centers; Traffic congestion continues to worsen, our schools are overcrowded, and both issues are important and require efforts in obtaining additional funding.
  • Encourage and Support Small Business development, Minority and Women Owned Businesses, and Local Farms. Everyone should have the opportunity to start their own business and easily work through the process with the county.
