Janet has been a resident of Howard County for 30 years. She grew up in western N.Y. on a farm. After high school, she went on to get an Associate degree in Accounting and then her Bachelors in Biology at S.U.N.Y. at Buffalo. She continued schooling for M.D. at Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed her residency at Georgetown University Medical Center. She is married and has three beautiful children.
After completing her residency, Janet joined the Johns Hopkins Community Physicians and has been working in Pediatrics. She is presently the Office Medical Director for Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Odenton facility. She is also part-time faculty at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and teaches pediatric residents, and also volunteers as needed at free health clinic. She has been a member of the PTA and the HCPSS Anti-bullying task force.
She has been serving on the Howard County Board of Education since 2007 and served as Chairman, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Legislative Committees as well as a liaison for federal relationship. She has also been serving on the Board of Howard County Recreation and Parks for several years. She was appointed by the Governor of Maryland to the Patuxent River Commission, and presented a case study on childhood obesity at the Howard County American Heart Association Annual Gala.
She is committed to children: their education, health, and future.
